Membership Rules for our Families

Bell Family has a unique position in the marketplace as the sole members-only referral network providing hand-selected, trust and safety verified Family Care Providers in metro New York and beyond. We have found the single most effective way to preserve the quality of our network is to rely on the good judgement of our current members. Therefore, all new members must apply with a referral from a current member Family, Family Care Provider or Partner.

Member families can invite new families by sending a referral code from their profile page. Once we receive a new family’s application, we will consider such factors as referral source, credit card checks, and the results of our proprietary phone assessments to accept or reject members. Once accepted, members are expected to enter and maintain their profile and payment methods, go through Bell Family regarding all Family Care Provider bookings and placements and conduct themselves within generally acceptable standards of good behavior with Bell Family employees, Family Care Providers, and other Bell Family Members. Failure to comply with these standards will generally result in one (1) warning before expulsion as a member. No membership fee reimbursements will be offered of any kind.

If however, such act endangers the emotional wellbeing or physical safety of the Family Care Provider, immediate expulsion from membership may be considered. In each case, without exception, Bell Family shall have the sole and final judgement in the matter. Members in good standing shall enjoy the full benefits offered by Bell Family, including priority booking, preferential rates, and special consideration for all of service offerings.

Automatic Renewal for Membership Fees

For families that choose to utilize Bell Family Company’s Sitter Services, we will automatically renew your annual membership for one year at the membership fee price that is in effect on the date of renewal, using the credit card, debit card, or other payment information on file with the Company. Such annual renewal payment will take place on or about your membership expiration date. If the client chooses to not renew their membership, the client must notify Bell Family in writing to cancel the membership at least seven (7) days prior to expiration or the membership will be charged on the scheduled day.

Payment

By applying for a Bell Family Sitter Services Membership, you affirmatively consent to automatic charges to the credit or debit card that you have provided to our company to hold on file for payment of your account. Any charges that are not paid by you within three (3) business days following a service date will be charged in full to your credit or debit card. Bell Family reserves the right to charge the family (either membership rates or non member rates) depending on status of family.

On-demand bookings of 23 hours in duration or less shall be paid by the Client for working hours. The Client agrees to pay for a minimum of four (4) hours of work if in the event the Client comes home early and did not communicate that to the sitter prior to the appointment’s commencement.

For Nanny Services the family agrees that if any Family Care Provider referred to you by Bell Family is hired pursuant to the terms of the Agreement, you shall pay a fee of 15% of the first year annual gross salary regardless of whether the Family Care Provider serves for an entire year or you shall pay a fee of 20% of the total gross salary for a temporary placement. The fee shall be paid in full on the day that the Family Care Provider commences employment.

A $50 service charge will be added to past due accounts of any kind of thirty (30) days. For each month following that the payment is not made an additional $50 per month will be applied to the balance due.

In the event the Client defaults in its payment of any kind, the Client agrees to be liable for and pay all costs incurred by the Company in connection with its collection of such fees, including reasonable attorneys' fees.

Change / Cancellation Fee Policy

On U.S. Bank Holidays ("holidays"), for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice the Client will pay full value of the appointment. Families are asked to adhere to the hours of the appointment they are confirmed with the Family Care Provider. If the Client would like to adjust their appointment duration in advance, they must update on their calendar or contact the Company prior to when the appointment commences. If the appointment is shortened after the appointment commences of an hour or more, the Client shall adhere to the full hours and value due. Changes in duration of appointment and applicable fees are made solely at the discretion of Bell Family.

Therefore, all new members must apply with a referral from a current Member Family or Member Family Care Provider, Head Quarters or preferred partner.

Member Providers can invite new Providers by sending a referral code from their profile page however this does not guarantee entry to our organization. Once we receive a new Provider’s application, we will consider such factors as referral source, childcare experience, reference checks, legal status and the results of our proprietary phone and face-to-face assessments to accept or reject a Provider’s application. Once accepted, Member Providers are expected to enter and maintain their profile, payment methods, go through Bell Family regarding all Caregiver bookings and placements, and conduct themselves within generally acceptable standards of good behavior with Bell Family employees, Family Care Providers, and other Bell Family Members. Failure to comply with these standards will generally result in one (1) warning before expulsion as a member.

If however, such act endangers the emotional wellbeing or physical safety of the a Member Family, any child, other Caregiver, Bell Family Employee or other source connected to Bell Family Company immediate expulsion from membership may be considered. In each case, without exception, Bell Family shall have the sole and final judgement in the matter. Provider Members in good standing shall enjoy the full benefits offered by Bell Family, including access to childcare jobs, on-going guidance and support to find a great family to work for, childcare training and coaching as well as a life long network to be part of.
